Our (Roelie *, Fred, Hilke and kids) wish for you

CHRISTMAS 2009

 we sang of silent holy night

in reverence and love

nostalgic memories of innocence and youth

our small world was not warming

no conference doomed to fail

through greed and wanting more

eating the cake and keeping more in store

the baby Jesus lies buried in his cradle

under expensive gifts not meant for him

we give and get forgetting the great moment

of birth and sacrifice in this momentous day

were angels sang and shepherds in great haste

came to the little shed

to see the wondrous baby born

let us light candles while waiting for the spring

when sleeping seeds are stirring

and show us life anew again

the promise of existence that lies

in dormant stillness

from darkness of winter

toward the light once more

let us celebrate now the priceless gifts

the light shining in our children's eyes

the magical seed of Christmas enduring

the joy we find in the circle of life

we sing of silent holy night
