Fred Vogels en familie wenst iedereen prettige feestdagen en een creatief en gezond 2012.
Ook dit jaar weer een arrangement van Stille Nacht. Dit keer zijn de stemmen ingezongen door de dames van Femme Vocale, een professionele groep van zangeressen. Kijk en luister ook naar hun andere prestaties via hun website. Werken met deze groep was weer een groot genoegen.
Natuurlijk ontbreekt het gedicht van mijn tante Roelie Kuilder (84) niet. Zij geeft haar visie op Kerstmis 2011 in de navolgende strofen:
as she watches
as shepherds and wise men watch
and the brightest star in the heavens burns bright
the child is born one silent night
celestial trumpets sounding
angels descending from night sky
singing songs of peace on earth
and a new world filled with forgiveness and hope
a miracle, a miracle they sing
the christ child is born
another child, terribly human,
hearing this marvellous tale
of supernatural beings
of star shining bright
of saviors of men,
dreams of being there
to hear the message for herself
to see this baby for herself
to see if it¹s true, or can be true
that one can save all
and exactly how that might look
a miracle, a miracle they sing
the christ child is born
a lifetime passes
the wondering child, terribly human
wears an old and creaky body
wears the sagging mask
of life lived
wonders if, through dimming eyes
she might ever see
angels descend from night sky
might ever hear
their songs of peace on earth
might ever know
a new world filled with forgiveness and hope
and might meet
one that saves all
a miracle, a miracle they sing
the christ child is born
